Josh Gordon has been the talk of the league recently, both due to the lack of NFL news and his intriguing skill set. Gordon conducted a workout Tuesday for teams hoping to get a look at the former Baylor wide receiver before Thursday's Supplemental Draft.
NFL Supplemental Draft: Josh Gordon Pro Day Results
Adam Caplan was on top of the results of Gordon’s pro day. Standing at 6-feet-3-inches tall and weighing 224 pounds, Gordon ran a 4.52 in the forty-yard dash, while posting a 36-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot, one-inch broad jump. Gordon also did 13 reps on the bench press.
According to Caplan, the Browns, Eagles, Cowboys, Bears, Seahawks, Chiefs, Colts, 49ers, Redskins, Bills, Texans, Patriots, Vikings and Saints were in attendance. Most of them sent two personnel members. Teams not in attendance can request a copy of Gordon’s workout.
The forty time isn’t going to blow anyone away, but it’s a small sample size and still a respectable time for a player of Gordon’s size. Caplan noted that 21 teams were in attendance at the workout. NFL scouts have given Gordon a fair amount of hype over the last week or so, some claiming that he could be a second round choice in the Supplemental Draft.
Gordon is reportedly entering the Supplemental Draft for financial reasons.
UPDATE: Tony Pauline is reporting that Gordon injured his quad during the forty-yard dash, but he will still attempt to run routes.
