The news has just broken on twitter. Highly coveted wide receiver Josh Gordon has been selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the supplemental draft. This means that Cleveland will forfeit it's second round selection in the 2013 NFL draft; but they get a talented receiver to add to the team now.
Supplemental Draft: Josh Gordon Selected By Cleveland Browns In Second Round
Gordon has been subject to heavy speculation over the last couple of weeks leading up to the supplemental draft. The former Baylor receiver transferred to Utah, where he was forced to sit out the season due to NCAA transfer rules. Scouts have varied on their opinions of Gordon. Some think of him as highly as a second round talent, while others think he’s overly-hyped and is no more than a fifth or sixth round talent.
But the 6-foot-3, 224lbs receiver is headed to Cleveland ahead of training camp to meet up with new teammates and fellow rookies Brandon Weeden and Trent Richardson.
More to come when we get it.
