With his future in the Sprint Cup Series in question, the pressure has been put on Ryan Newman to win and get quality finishes on a consistent basis. He is in the final year of his contract with Stewart-Haas Racing.

Unfortunately for Newman, his 2012 season has been disappointing.

Despite winning at Martinsville earlier this year, he has not had a lot of success in 2012. He only has 1 top-5 and 1 top-10 under his belt since that last win. Although he is in the thick of the Wild Card hunt I see him as an underdog at this point.

With Newman’s future hanging in the balance, Newman and SHR suffered what some consider a “knockout” blow as the US Army announced last week that they were withdrawing their sponsorship from both NASCAR and Stewart-Haas Racing after 2012.

Many people wonder about Ryan Newman’s future in the sport, but I have my own opinion on the matter.

The way I see it is this;

If Tony Stewart wants him back in the #39 car, then I see Newman remaining with Stewart-Haas Racing. I honestly don’t see a reason to worry about sponsorships because Stewart-Haas Racing has a ton of sponsors. It all just depends on whether Tony wants him back or not.

What are your thoughts about Ryan Newman and his future with Stewart-Haas Racing? Leave a comment and let us know!
