Woman Charged For Stalking Cubs Exec Theo Epstein

The Cubs President of Baseball Operations had also been stalked, apparently by the same woman, while he was Boston Red Sox GM.

This isn't something that normally happens to baseball executives, but, unfortunately, Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein has seen this before. A Massachusetts woman who had been accused of stalking Epstein while he was Red Sox general manager showed up in Chicago Monday, doing the same thing, according to the Chicago Tribune:

The woman, Kathleen Kearney, 44, told Chicago police that she was “Only inviting Mr. Epstein to go to church,” despite being previously warned about contacting the Cubs boss, or stopping by his home, according to authorities.
Kearney, of Canton, Mass., was charged this morning with two counts of felony stalking, police said.Epstein and his wife and son were in no danger, as police officers intercepted her before she could reach his home, located just a few blocks from Wrigley Field. Here’s what happened when Kearney did this in Boston:

Last October, sportswriter Peter Gammons wrote that police in the Boston suburb where Epstein previously lived often kept watch over his home because of stalking concerns.
A police source said Kearney was the woman who had previously contacted Epstein. Kearney’s sister declined comment this morning.
Kearney is expected to appear before a judge later today.
