Today in a press conference at Arkansas State former Auburn running back was set to make an announcement. There were tons of rumors on the net that he was going to transfer to Pittsburg State, the D-2 powerhouse. Well he just made his announcement and that is not true, Michael Dyer will be staying at Arkansas State this year and will learn the Red Wolf Offense while sitting out this season. He is a very strong running back with great moves. He will be a very good running back for them, when he does hit the field.

As a true freshman in 2010 Dyer rushed for 1,093 yards on 182 carries and five touchdowns, breaking the Auburn record for most rushing yards by a freshman, previously held by Bo Jackson.Dyer finished the 2011 regular season, his sophomore year, with 1,242 yards rushing on 242 attempts, an average of 5.1 yards-per-carry. He rushed for 10 touchdowns and averaged 103.5 yards-per-game. He was named to the Associated Press’ All-SEC first team and the Coaches’ All-SEC first team.

Prior to Auburn’s appearance in the 2011 Chick-fil-A Bowl, Dyer was suspended indefinitely for an undisclosed violation of team rules. On January 6, 2012, Auburn released Dyer from his football scholarship. Now he will stay with the Arkansas State Red Wolves and sit out the next season. He will be able to work out with the team, but will not play in 2013. So this should be interesting, also a side note, Dyer never spoke with Pittsburg State per the interview with him.
