Impact draft picks: NFC East

Presswire

Last week, I went over which player I believe is going to have a big year for their teams in the AFC. This week I am targeting the NFC teams, and first off will be the NFC East. You have the New York Giants (The Super Bowl Champions) and other stud teams in this division and it could be a pretty interesting division in 2012. The draft picks that I believe will have an immediate impact for their teams are…..

Dallas CowboysMorris Claiborne, CB, LSU, Need I say more, the Dallas Cowboys needed a starting corner back bad, because of the issues with Mike Jenkins. They had to trade up to get their man but Claiborne is going to be a stud in the NFL. He has long arms, and is very quick, he is fun to watch, because of his abilities in both roles as a corner and a punt/kick returner. Today at camp, Claiborne was returning punts for the Cowboys and I can see this leading to a few touchdowns for America's Team.

Washingon RedskinsRobert Griffin III, QB, Baylor, RG3, not only has the Redskins fan base rooting for him, but the team as well. The Redskins have not had a solid QB for a very long time, they have not had the best luck at drafting quarterbacks, but I believe that all changes this year. You have to give the Skins for doing a great job this off season with all the penalties they were given on salary cap. They were able to pick up some very solid players at wide receiver especially Pierre Garcon, who I think will be a huge fantasy stud this year. He will be RG3’s new Kendall Wright, so get ready for a big year for the Skins.

Philadelphia EaglesVinny Curry, DE, Marshall, I have loved this kid since watching him play in the Conference USA, and I won’t shade away from him now. He had an injury in the first mini camp but will come back strong. Curry is a very hard working man, who has endured a lot as a player since last year. When he lost his mother last season before a game, he was able to still focus and have the best game of the season for the Thundering Herd. Curry is an old school football player from Jersey, who grew up a Eagle fan, so it is great to see him playing for his favorite team. Another great story on Curry, was when he selected his number in Philly, he was given the number 75. He was going to switch but said it was only right to keep it, because that is how many people were killed when the airplane crashed with the Marshall team back in the day. Curry will sport #75, in remembrance of the people lost in the Marshall plane crash, and that just gives you more reason to love the kid.

New York Giants – Ruben Randle, WR, LSU, This is a big receiver who is going to get tons of reps at the wide out spot. With Mario Manningham now with the 49ers, it opened the door for one spot. With Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz, watch out for Randle, who has the length to get down the field and create problems with the secondary. Randle will be a steal in the later part of the second round, especially if he can learn the playbook and get quickly acquainted with Eli Manning. Watch out this year for the long wide receiver, who will make the defending Super Bowl Champs even tougher to beat next year.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
