Dodgers Reportedly Interested In Justin Morneau

The Los Angeles Dodgers look to be active this trade deadline, and they have interest in Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau.

The Los Angeles Dodgers made one of the early splashes of the trade deadline, nabbing mercurial infielder Hanley Ramirez, but it looks like they aren't close to being done. They're still heavy on the Ryan Dempster trade talks, and they're looking for even more upgrades, possibly even with Twins first baseman Justin Morneau:

Dodgers, who still want to add a bat, also have some interest in Justin Morneau

There was a little concern that Morneau wouldn't even play this season because of lingering concussion problems, but he's been mostly healthy this season, hitting .253/.314/.437. If you had told the Twins that Morneau was going to have an "Adrian Gonzalez-type season", they would have been thrilled. About that ...

The Dodgers would be replacing James Loney at first, which is why they're interested in the first place, and there'd likely be some money exchanging hands to make up for the $13 million Morneau is due next year.

If the Dodgers make the deal, expect them to complete an additional three-team swap for a Delorean and a flux capacitor. Then the 2008 and 2009 Phillies would see what's up.
