Blue Jays Place Adam Lind On Disabled List

The Toronto DH has had back trouble, and now he’ll rest it for a couple of weeks.

Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter Adam Lind has not had a great 2012. He was hitting .186/.273/.314 on May 25, when the Jays sent him to Triple-A Las Vegas to try to get his hitting stroke back.

It worked, to an extent; since his recall on June 25, Lind has hit .288/.337/.513 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 24 games. He was slowed with back trouble that caused him to sit out three straight games, and now he’ll be sitting some more:

Cooper, a DH/first baseman, has played 51 games for the Blue Jays in 2011 and 2012; he was hitting .314/.395/.540 with 10 home runs in 68 games for Las Vegas. Sounds pretty much like a Lind clone, except a couple of inches shorter.
