Coming off a victory at Congressional in the AT&T National last week, Tiger Woods will take the course at The Old White TPC for a shot at the Greenbrier Classic title in White Sulphur Springs, WV. This tournament began in 2010 and will mark Woods’ debut in West Virginia.
Greenbrier Classic 2012 Preview: Tiger Woods Leads Strong Contigent Of Golfers
Tiger Woods makes his West Virginia debut at the Greenbrier Classic on Thursday. Can he make it two wins in a row after capturing a victory at Congressional last week?

Woods will take the course on Thursday with 2012 Masters U.S. Open Webb Simpson and Steve Stricker, one of the top groupings to start the tournament. Another intriguing group consists of Phil Mickelson, Scott Stallings and Stuart Appleby. The latter two are the previous winners of this tournament. The threesome of Tom Watson, Jim Furyk and Keegan Bradley is a solid group of major championship winners to follow.
If the golf isn’t enough to tide over those in attendance, a Greenbrier Classic Concert Series takes place over several nights. On July 4, Toby Keith will perform, featuring a special appearance by Lionel Richie. Then, on July 6, Rod Stewart and the Fray will perform. Bon Jovi closes things out on July 7.
This tournament and the concert series are certainly proving strong in the first several years, as the PGA Tour has already extended the event through the 2021 season.
