The Braves’ rookie shortstop was supposed to be out a month. One month turned into two, but now he’s back.
Braves Activate Andrelton Simmons From Disabled List
Four weeks turned into eight. With the minor-league seasons over, Simmons got a bit of playing time in the Carolina League playoffs, hitting .320 (8-for-25) with two doubles, two home runs and six RBIs in six games for Lynchburg.

Unfortunately, he suffered a fractured finger Sunday, and will be out for a while. Chris Vivlamore:
This will probably mean Pastornicky’s return; he’ll get another shot to prove he belongs in the major leagues. It’ll be an interesting dilemma if he’s improved; usually, a player doesn’t lose his job because of injury, but the job was Pastornicky’s before it belonged to Simmons. That could be a good problem for the Braves to have.
