LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, also known as "Honey Badger," has been dismissed from the football team as announced by coach Les Miles, who cited a violation of team policy as the reason for dismissal.

“Tyrann Mathieu is no longer on our team,” Miles stated simply in a press conference on Friday afternoon. “Permanent. He will not be back.”
Mathieu, who is entering his junior season, was a Heisman finalist in 2011 and one of the LSU’s impact players on the way to a birth in the national title game and an SEC Championship. He now has to find a new place to play outside of the FBS if he hopes to see the field this season. Mathieu will be eligible to declare for the 2013 NFL Draft next April.
Mathieu will likely be replaced in the lineup by redshirt freshman Jalen Collins, who is no slouch. Miles insists LSU is well equipped to replace Mathieu and will help the troubled defensive back in his transfer process.
