“The Only One”: Jose Mourinho Gives Himself An Upgrade

You might think that anyone would be happy with the epithet "The Special One", even if it was a slight misquote by the English press, but not Jose Mourinho. The Real Madrid boss has appointed himself a brand-new moniker, and will now refuse to answer to anything other than "The Only One" due to his unique achievement in winning each of Europe's top three leagues.

In an interview with Portuguese TV’s SIC, Mourinho claimed: “Like me or not, I am the only one who won the world’s three most important leagues. So, maybe instead of the ‘Special One’, people should start calling me the ‘Only One’.”

And who are we to argue? If you do win the league in England, Italy, and Spain, then as far as we’re concerned you’re more than entitled to call yourself whatever you want, by deed poll if necessary. It’ll be interesting to see if it catches on, but for now, altogether...
