At a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Mississippi St. Bulldogs athletic director Scott Stricklin announced plans for a $75 million expansion of Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field.

Mississippi State University athletic director Scott Stricklin has announced a $75 million expansion of Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. The expansion will add 9,000 seats, more suites, restrooms and concession stands. There is also plans for a terrace at ground level of the stadium.Follow @SBNationCFB

The stadium is FBS’ second oldest and finished its most recent expansion in 2002, which expanded the capacity to 55,082. The newest expansion is planned to add about 9,000 seats to the stadium and is set to be completed for the facility’s 100th anniversary in 2014.

Other things that are planned for this expansion include the typical additions of suites, restrooms, elevators and concession stands. Also:

The Bulldogs are excited for this expansion and are already taking orders on tickets in the new premium seats today. In fact, so many people know about this, the Bulldog Club website is down because of too many people visiting the site.
