Jordan Webb Named Colorado Starting QB By Jon Embree
Colorado Buffaloes head coach Jon Embree has named Jordan Webb the starting quarterback of the Buffaloes for the 2012 season.

Webb has experience as a starting quarterback, starting 19 games for the Kansas Jayhawks prior to transferring to Colorado. He beat out Connor Wood, himself a transfer from the Texas Longhorns, to earn the starting honors.
Opinions vary on which quarterback Embree and the Buffaloes should have named the starter, but fans over at The Ralphie Report agree that a decision needed to be made sooner rather than later.
Personally, I had hoped to see Connor Wood get the call due to his high ceiling and his time remaining in the program, but as Denny said last week, a long quarterback derby or even dual quarterback's going into the season would not have helped this team mature and I'm glad a call was made. Webb will take over the reins the bulk of the snaps with the first team and he will hopefully begin to build a report with his receivers. Webb is a similar quarterback to Tyler Hansen and he just "finds a way to get the ball to his target" as Embree said last Saturday.
Webb will make his debut as Colorado's starting quarterback on Sept. 1, 2012, when Colorado takes on the Colorado St. Rams.
