New Orleans Hornets Sign Brian Roberts
The New Orleans Hornets have signed free agent point guard Brian Roberts.

Roberts made a name for himself during the Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 13.8 points, 2.2 assists and two rebounds per game for New Orleans' summer squad. Roberts started three games for the Hornets in Las Vegas after Austin Rivers went down with bone spurs in his right ankle. Rivers had surgery to remove the bone spurs, and should be cleared to play in time for the season opener against the San Antonio Spurs on Oct. 31.
Roberts went undrafted out of Dayton in 2008 and spent last season in Bamberg, Germany, with Brose Baskets of the Basketball Bundesliga. Roberts led Brose Baskets to a third straight BBL championship last season, averaging 8.6 points and 2.2 assists per game.
