ARCA: Frank Kimmel wins dirt race at Illinois State Fairgrounds, a behest to broadcast the complete season schedule

It’s a shame that the complete ARCA Racing Series schedule isn’t televised right now. Some of the best races are on short tracks and on dirt, including Sunday’s Allen Crowe 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds - a race won by nine-time division champion Frank Kimmel.
I understand the status quo. It’s cost-prohibitive to broadcast races where there’s not a NASCAR presence. Televising ARCA provides nothing but extra programming to the SPEED Network and is a gift to the ARCA fan base. I just wish there was a way to get these novelty races additional exposure.
The racing is essentially Diet NASCAR when ARCA visits Michigan or Pocono. ARCA really excels on the dirt and short bullrings where competition is high and contact is even higher. Some of my favorite childhood memories involve watching Kimmel, Ken Schrader, and Tony Stewart tackle the dirt on televised dirt ARCA races from the Fairgrounds and DuQuoin Speedway.
Here’s to hoping these races will be televised in future years.
Kimmel and Alex Bowman exchanged the lead several times in the closing laps but equal tires gave way to experience with 10 laps to go as Kimmel got under Bowman and drove away to win his second race of the season - and 76th of his ARCA Racing career.
Bowman held on for second, with Kevin Swindell moving from fifth to third in the last 10 laps. Kelly Kovski finished fourth over Chris Buescher and Chad Hackenbracht. Tyler Speer, Mason Mingus, Austin Rettig and Spencer Gallagher completed the top-10.
The complete race results can be found after the jump.
