NBA, Ticketmaster To Offer Ticket Resale Platform
The NBA has announced a partnership with Ticketmaster, which will create a ticket sales website that will list tickets for sale both by NBA teams and by fans re-selling tickets.

The NBA’s new ticket sales website serves two main purposes for the NBA. First, the league will almost certainly take business away from websites such as StubHub, which is the largest ticket resale website. Secondly, it will help teams determine what the proper pricing is for seating.
Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard believes that this website will be revolutionary for fans.
“This is ‘Moneyball’ for the fans in terms of ticketing,” Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard said. “Teams have used sophisticated data to evaluate players. Now it’s time for teams to use sophisticated data to evaluate fans instead of just going with the gut. It’s time for teams to get data and do what Procter & Gamble and GE does with that data: Find the best product for the consumer at the right price in the best distribution channel possible.”
The new ticket website will launch in October.
