Sophomore Taylor Kelly, the leading candidate to take over as the starting quarterback for Arizona State after the departure of Brock Osweiler to the NFL, has won the job.
Arizona State Football: Taylor Kelly Named Starting QB
Sophomore Taylor Kelly has been named the starting quarterback for Arizona State University.

ASU coach Todd Graham made the announcement after Monday’s practice in Tempe, Ariz. Kelly, who played sparingly last season as a backup, will get the start when ASU opens the 2012 regular season against Northern Arizona.

Kelly, a 6-1, 203-pound native of Eagle, Idaho, gets his chance to lead a major college team. He beat out competitors Michael Eubank and Mike Bercovici for the job, although Eubank will apparently go in as the backup and get snaps in the opener.
The score of the game might dictate how much Eubank, a redshirt freshman, gets to play. But Graham might like to see Eubank get snaps earlier in the game when the score figures to be closer.
