Da’Rick Rogers Transfers To Tennessee Tech, According To Reports
Wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers has transferred to Tennessee Tech and took part in team meetings on Sunday, according to Austin Price of Volquest.com. Rogers is eligible to play immediately for Tennessee Tech, which is a Football Championship Subdivision team.

Earlier Thursday, Tennessee coach Derek Dooley announced the indefinite suspension of last year’s First-Team SEC honoree. Rogers has not been kicked off the team, though, and Dooley did not rule out a return this season. But because of recent events and past of-the-field issues, Rogers probably has a long way to go before a comeback is possible.

Rogers caught 67 passes for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns in 2011, making him Tennessee’s most productive wide receiver by a significant margin. That output earned him a first-team All-SEC nod.

Whenever there’s a Rogers incident, many point back to his Signing Day flip to Tennessee from his longtime Georgia commitment, but that’s not necessarily an indicator of character in most cases. However, the way he talked about the move in the aftermath showed he didn’t care all that much about the impact of his choice. Not that he necessarily should, but we can think about it in light of the rest of his Tennessee career.
Shortly after arriving in Knoxville, he was arrested as part of a bar brawl and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He wasn’t suspended for that event.
