So much for Tennessee’s dynamic wide receiver tandem.
Tennessee wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers suspended indefinitely

Da'Rick Rogers, the Volunteers' leading receiver a year ago, has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules, according to Evan Woodbery of the Knoxville News Sentinel. Rogers did not appear on Tennessee's first preseason depth chart, and the team confirmed his suspension. Vols coach Derek Dooley is expected to address the situation after the team's Thursday practice.
Rogers surpassed 1,000 receiving in his sophomore season and found the endzone nine times. Unfortunately, Rogers has been a handful for the coaching staff since arriving in Knoxville. Towards the end of the 2011 season, reports surfaced about Rogers’ run-ins with the coaching staff, but nothing was done about it.
The silver lining for Tennessee is that Justin Hunter, who missed most of 2011 with a knee injury, is atop the depth chart to start the season and is every bit as talented as Rogers. Cordarrelle Patterson, a junior college transfer, will replace Rogers across from Hunter on the depth chart. Quarterback Tyler Bray will have one less weapon to work with.
Meanwhile, Rogers’ status for the rest of the season has not been determined. He does still have two seasons of eligibility if he was to transfer.
