Auburn head football coach Gene Chizik announced Saturday that he has suspended Reese Dismukes after the center was arrested for public intoxication early Saturday morning, according to the Associated Press' Ralph D. Russo.
Gene Chizik Suspends Auburn Center Reese Dismukes
Starting center Reese Dismukes was suspended Saturday following his public intoxication arrest.

The arrest occurred around approximately 2 a.m. Saturday and Dismukes was released on a $300 bond, according to reports. Chizik explained in his statement that he is “very disappointed” in Dismukes’ “irresponsible behavior” only one week before the season opener against Clemson.
Dismukes was a freshman All-American last season while starting all 13 games. His loss marks a severe blow to the Tigers as he was widely considered one of the only sure things across a very young offensive line. Dismukes' backup is sophomore Tunde Fariyike.
Clemson was a 3.5-point favorite before wide receiver Sammy Watkins' suspension dropped them to just three-point favorites. That spread is likely to change again following this additional suspension.
