Michigan Wolverines senior Fitzgerald Toussaint has been listed as the starting running back for the season opener against Alabama despite being arrested on drunk driving charges in late July, according to MLive Michigan football beat reporter Kyle Meinke.

This news comes somewhat as a surprise given head coach Brady Hoke’s declaration, per Tran Longmoor of Saline.Patch.com, that Toussaint had been suspended as a result of the arrest, saying, ”“Fitz made a poor decision and has been suspended indefinitely because of that action.” Toussaint’s availability is a huge positive for the No. 8 Michigan Wolverines as they will need all the offensive production they can get against the highly touted Crimson Tide defense. The two teams face off Sept. 1.
Toussaint finished last season with 1,041 yards, second-most on the team behind quarterback Denard Robinson, and nine touchdowns.
