Five best steals in a fantasy football draft

Getty Images

Now that I am running a fantasy football league, I have been looking at players who I think are very underrated, and boy let me tell you some players who I think will be huge steals for someone in the later rounds, here are a few players that can’t believe are as low as they are in a lot of the rankings I have looked at. So are you looking for a late round playmaker? If so check it out and I will give your team a boost, in my opinion.

Joe Flacco, QB, Baltimore Ravens – How do people have this man rated the 18th best quarterback? Are you serious, you have players like Robert Griffin above him? Ok, let me say this, I am very high on the Baltimore Ravens this year, as well as the Atlanta Falcons, they are both going to be very tough, I can see Flacco cranking it up this year, he is trying to get a contract, and you know when players want a new contract, big things happen for them. I see Flacco doing something special this year, and becoming the leader in the locker room that he needs to become.

Peyton Hillis, RB, Kansas City Chiefs – I know, you are thinking the same Hillis that quit on his last team, and yeah that is who I’m talking about. If Peyton Hillis can come back to 80 percent of what he was in Cleveland watch out, because we know he is a work horse. They have tons of running backs in KC but let’s be honest, no body that can stay healthy enough to take over a game. When they get to the goal line both you and I know who will be in the game. This is a great goal line pick up, if healthy he should have 10 plus touchdowns.

Denarius Moore, WR, Oakland Raiders – He is their #1 receiver in Oakland and was able to come on very strong last year. I love this kid’s range, he was a nasty player who goes up and gets the ball. If you watch the game against Buffalo last year, you will fall in love with this kid. He was a killer in that game, I expect more from him this year. So steal this kid late in the draft, it will be worth it, trust me.

Dallas Clark, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – I know an old TE, but yes the reason is he is a pass catching tight end, which is utilized a lot in Tampa. Kellen Winslow had a pretty successful career in Tampa, and Dallas Clark is just as good if not better of a receiver than Winslow. Freeman is young, and to help a young quarterback you get him a good tight end that he can trust. Well no need to fear, he has his guy now, Clark is going to tear up the division this year because he can run them short routes and has the hands to reel in the ball. Clark is going to be a huge steal in this years draft.

BUFFALO BILLS DEFENSE - Need I say more? I know I am a Buffalo homer, but their defense has always produced turnovers and a few games where they explode for tons of points, just ask Tom Brady last year. Not only this, they have CJ Spiller, Leodis McKelvin and brought in TJ Graham the best punt returner/kick returner in college football last year. Buffalo added to their defensive line with Mario Williams and Mark Anderson and now they have Jim Leonard in for a visit. If that is the case, Buffalo is serious about their defense this year. If you look at Dave WannSTACHE’s defenses they are usually good, but how can they not be good with the acquisitions they have brought in 2012. I think Bills will finish with a top 5 defense in the NFL.
