Unquestionably, cornerback is one of the most important positions in the NFL Draft. In the past three years, 96 cornerbacks have been taken in the draft, with 11 being first round picks. That’s a trend that should continue in 2013.
2013 NFL Draft cornerback rankings: David Amerson atop list of plus-size corners

North Carolina State's David Amerson grabs headlines with all of his interceptions. Of course he has incredible size, but his ball skills and instincts put him at the top of the class.
Tyrann Mathieu would be much higher on this list, but he's not playing this season. I nearly left him off the list. Regardless, he would have been behind the Tigers' Tharold Simon. It's Simon, not Mathieu, who will be the next great LSU cornerback. His size is elite and he led LSU in pass breakups in 2011 with 10.
The size of players in this class really stand out. More than half the players I have currently ranked are listed at six feet or taller. Find those rankings after the jump and let me know what you think.
