The National Hockey League announced the 2012-13 television schedules for national partners such as NBC, NBC Sports Network, CBC, TSN, RDS and the NHL Network on Thursday morning, despite the contentious negotiations over a new collective bargaining agreement between the NHL and NHLPA and looming concerns about a lockout. Over 100 NHL games are scheduled to be broadcast on NBC and the NBC Sports Network during the upcoming season. NBC Sports Network will have recurring coverage on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, while NHL on NBC broadcast coverage is slated to begin with the 2012 Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown between the Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers.
NHL TV Schedule: Despite Lockout Fears, League Announces National Coverage
The NHL released the national TV schedule for the 2012-13 season on Thursday.
NBC will also carry the 2013 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 1, along with extensive coverage of NHL All-Star Weekend in Columbus, Ohio, from Jan. 25-27. Meanwhile, the NHL Network is scheduled to televise 78 live games, with most of the coverage falling on Thursday nights and Saturdays.
