Miami RedHawks at Ohio State Buckeyes NFL Draft watch notes

We'll quickly find out this season if Miami quarterback Zac Dysert is a legit NFL prospect. He won't face a team all year that's as close to Ohio State in terms of talent on defense. Dysert did fairly well against Missouri, Minnesota and Cincinnati last season, but the talent on Ohio State is impressive.

Ohio State can attack Miami in all areas of the game defensively. The pass rush up front from John Simon and Johnathan Hankins should be a factor all day. There is a high level of young talent at linebacker for Ohio State and they have an emerging star at cornerback in redshirt sophomore Bradley Roby. How Dysert responds will go a long way to determine his fate as an NFL prospect.

How good is Roby? As a redshirt freshman a year ago he started 13 games and tied for the team lead in interceptions. Harwell's success has come quickly as well. In just two seasons, he's already had 161 receptions for more than 2,200 yards and 15 touchdowns. The two are pretty even from a size standpoint, which should make for a good matchup.

Is Ohio State's Jack Mewhort suited for left tackle?

As talented as Mewhort may be, the junior will still be in his full-time year playing left tackle after playing guard in 2011. Mewhort certainly has the size for the position and has a nasty temperament on the field. He's also being relied upon as the leader of the offensive line. How he adjusts to the change of position and leadership role will be something to watch as the year progresses.

How does Urban Meyer's offense impact Ohio State's skill position prospects?

Some quick things to note: Junior Jake Stoneburner has already been moved from tight end to wide receiver, which will make his draft stock hard to place. Meyer's offense has never been known to produce running backs, which may put a hit on Carlos Hyde moving forward. Don't be shocked if Corey "Philly" Brown really emerges as a Percy Harvin-like threat while Jordan Hall rehabs an injury.
