The Minnesota Twins have acquired outfield Jeremias Pineda from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for third baseman Danny Valencia, according to a report by Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

With the move, Valencia will be immediately sent down to the minor leagues for the Red Sox. On the season thus far with the Twins, the 27-year-old Valencia was hitting just .198 with two home runs and 17 RBI in 126 at-bats.
