Alabama and Michigan are set to clash in Arlington, Texas for the main event of college football’s opening weekend. The game of the week pits the No. 2 Crimson Tide against the No. 8 Wolverines.

Michigan brings a quirky offensive attack that doesn't feature a ton of traditional NFL prospects. The Wolverine offensive line is stacked with maulers, but Denard Robinson will still be scrambling around in Michigan's offense.

On the other sideline is the factory of NFL prospects that ‘Bama head coach Nick Saban has built. His offensive line is monstrous, Alabama has another stud running back and, of course, the defense will be among the best in the country.

After the jump, check out the prospects to watch on each side, the matchup of the night and question that needs to be answered.

Matchup of the Night

Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan (No. 77) against Alabama’s defensive ends

There aren’t many traditional elements of Michigan’s offensive approach, but Taylor Lewan is the prototypical bookend tackle. This will be one of the biggest tests of his career, as he will be matched up against a talented rotation of defensive linemen Alabama will roll out. Let’s see if Lewan is up to the challenge.

Question of the Night

Is Eddie Lacy the next in the line of great Alabama running backs?

Anyone who watched Eddie Lacy in 2011 knows that he is a big, bruising back, but he also has surprising wheels. He now has a chance to carry the load offensively for the Tide. Lacy will be on the national stage all year long, so he’ll have a chance to really boost his draft stock.
