Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre suffered a left shoulder sprain Wednesday night in the Rangers' game with the Cleveland Indians. Beltre injured the shoulder during a diving stop on a ground ball hit by Indians designated hitter Russ Canzler in the second inning.

Before being forced out of the game, Beltre had already made his impact. The third baseman blasted a two-run home run to left-center field in the bottom of the first inning. The home run was Beltre’s 32nd of the year and capped off a three-run first inning for Texas.

Beltre will have an MRI on his shoulder as a precaution, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, though results are not expected Wednesday night.

The fourteen-year veteran, who got his start in the league at the age of 19, is hitting .318 this season, his second-highest batting average in the last eight seasons. This season marks his second with the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers currently lead the Indians 5-2 in the fifth inning.
