Houston Rockets forward Jon Brockman injured both eyes in a freak accident while working out on Monday in Houston. According to Dave Mahler of SportsRadio 950 AM, a resistance band hit Brockman in his face, injuring both eyes.

His left eye is recovering but his right is still swollen shut. The damage done to that eye is still unclear, according to Mahler.

Brockman was traded to the Rockets in June as part of a deal sending center Samuel Dalembert to the Milwaukee Bucks. Houston made the transaction to move up in the draft, where they picked 12th, 16th and 18th.

The injury could put Brockman's place with the squad further into question. He will be fighting for playing time at power forward and center with a number of the Rockets' younger assets. Houston drafted versatile forwards Royce White and Kentucky's Terrence Jones in July's draft and also have 23-year-old Patrick Patterson on the roster.

At center, Houston also acquired upcoming force Omer Asik in free agency this summer.

Brockman is a second round pick who started his career with the Sacramento Kings. He has career averages of 2.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. In college, the 6'7, 255 pound forward became the all-time leading rebounder for the Washington Huskies.
