Oakland Athletics left fielder Yoenis Cespedes left Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Angels with a right wrist sprain, according to Casey Pratt of CSN Bay Area. Cespedes injured the wrist when sliding into and colliding with Angels shortstop Erick Aybar at second base.

Cespedes is listed as day-to-day.

Oakland pulled Cespedes in the bottom of the fifth inning. Brandon Moss took over the vacant left field and Chris Carter took Moss’ place at first. The game was tied 0-0 at the time of Cespedes’ departure.

The loss of Cespedes could be of notable detriment to the A’s, as the team is 70-38 with Cespedes in the lineup. Injured a bit this season, Cespedes was being used carefully by manager Bob Melvin, who placed his left fielder in the lineup as a designated hitter in the past couple of games.

On the year, Cespedes is batting .287 with 18 home runs and 68 RBI for the A’s.
