It has been a breakout year for the 29-year-old slugger, who is finally capitalizing on the potential that made him a top prospect in the Reds system several years ago. He was acquired by the Blue Jays at the trade deadline in 2009 in exchange for Scott Rolen. The breakout season earned him a lucrative contract extension, as he signed a 3-year, $27million deal on July 12 of this year.
