Rangers’ Mike Napoli Set To Return From DL Saturday
Mike Napoli is scheduled to return to the Texas Rangers on Saturday after missing a month with a strained left quad muscle.

“I feel good enough,” Napoli said. “I’ll go get some at-bats tomorrow and be ready to go. I don’t think I’m running at full speed, but I’m able to run around the bases at a decent pace and I feel good catching.
Out since August 11, the 30-year-old Napoli worked out with the Rangers on Thursday and will play a third and final rehab game with Double-A Frisco on Friday night as their designated hitter. He spent 15 innings behind the plate for the Roughriders on Tuesday and Wednesday, hitting a home run in six at-bats.
After a stellar 2011, Napoli had a tough act to follow this season and has not been able to duplicate last year’s success. The right-handed slugger is hitting .223/.343/.429 with 17 home runs and 40 RBI in 92 games on the year.
