The Vancouver Canucks agreed to terms with left wing Alexandre Burrows on a four-year extension, according to team president and general manager Mike Gillis.

The Canucks locked up their left wing Alex Burrows for four more years Friday with the CBA set to expire in only one day.

The deal is worth an annual base salary of $4.5 million, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.
The 31-year-old Burrows showed off his clutch gene last season by setting a new career high with seven game-winning goals. Burrows has spent his entire seven-year career with the Canucks, receiving the club’s “Most Exciting Player” award three consecutive years (2008, 2009, 2010). In his 522 career games, he’s logged 270 points (139-131-270) while also capturing the team record for most career overtime playoff goals (3).
According to Dan Murphy of Sports Net, the deal also includes a full no-trade clause for all four years. This deal also comes one day before the expiration of the NHL’s CBA on Saturday. Burrows was thought to be looking for a five or six-year deal so it’s possible he settled to have some job security.
Burrows racked up 52 points (28-24-52) in 80 games played in 2011-2012.
