Borussia Dortmund Vs. Bayer Leverkusen, 2012 Bundesliga: BVB Cruise Over Leverkusen
BVB were out on a mission after their last outing in which they drew 1-1 with Nürnberg. They probed and prodded for half an hour before finding their goal. Marcel Schmelzer sent in a corner, and Mats Hummels headed it in for the 1-0 lead. The big defender headed the ball into the ground, and it hit the roof of the net.
Jakub Blaszczykowski made it 2-0 before halftime. Lukasz Piszczek sent in a cross, and Mario Götze played a brilliant dummy. Kuba had an easy tap in to double their lead.
While BVB were in complete control of the match, Robert Lewandowski made it 3-0 when he headed in Marco Reus’ free kick.
Both will now get ready for European action midweek. Borussia Dortmund will face Ajax in the Champions League, and Bayer Leverkusen will face Metalist Kharkiv.
