Blue-chip recruit Anthony “Cat” Barber, a Hampton, Va., native, has decided to join Mark Gottfried and a host of other talented youngsters at N.C. State, multiple reports indicate. Barber, a 6’2”, 165-pound point guard in the Class of 2013, joins incoming freshmen Rodney Purvis, T.J. Warren and Tyler Lewis — all of whom were consensus Top 100 recruits — as part of a big-time youth movement for the Wolfpack.
Anthony ‘Cat’ Barber Commits To N.C. State, According To Reports
Five-star recruit Anthony “Cat” Barber committed to N.C. State Saturday, adding to the parade of youth for head coach Mark Gottfried.

Barber was also considering the Kansas Jayhawks and Alabama Crimson Tide, but stuck with the school closest to home. He is a consensus five-star recruit and considered the second-best point guard in his class behind still-uncommitted Texas product Andrew Harrison. They're excited in Raleigh to welcome their new point guard.

The Wolfpack are getting this infusion of young talent fresh off an appearance in the Sweet 16 in last year’s NCAA Tournament. These are fun times in Raleigh right now.
