NFL Injury Report: Blaine Gabbert Headlines AFC South Maladies

The teams of the AFC South suffered more casualties on Sunday.

Presswire

With another week of games in the books, that usually means some notable injuries and additional concerns for coaching staffs. Now with all four AFC South teams having played their Week 2 games, which players will be monitored throughout the week? Here’s a look around the division at who will be visiting with the team trainers more than usual.

Surprisingly, only two players that represent a team in the AFC South were injured during their respective games. While the Texans and Colts don't have any new injuries to worry about, the Jaguars will be holding their breath, as starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert suffered an injury during the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans. Gabbert was unable to return to the game due to a thigh injury. He will undergo a MRI tomorrow via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.

Tennessee Titans linebacker Will Witherspoon suffered an injury with 11:20 remaining in the third quarter against the San Diego Chargers. The injury happened during a Chargers running play to the right end. However, Witherspoon was able to return to action soon after.
