The Southeastern Conference has suspended South Carolina safety D.J. Swearinger for this Saturday's game against Missouri for an illegal hit he made in the Gamecocks' most recent win over UAB.
South Carolina safety D.J. Swearinger suspended for Saturday’s game

Swearinger is one of the top draft-eligible safeties in the country, and South Carolina will certainly miss his presence in the secondary. Missouri is having decent luck with suspended opponents, as they got to take on Georgia without a couple of key defensive pieces.
South Carolina's defense is still a force. In particular, the Gamecocks' defensive line is going to have a field day with an injury-depleted Mizzou offensive line. Still, Missouri will take any advantage they can get in this game, especially with quarterback James Franklin's status up in the air due to a shoulder injury. The Gamecocks are currently favored by 10 points playing in front of their home crowd.
