Curtis Granderson Injury: MRI Reveals Tendinitis

New York Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson had an MRI done on his injured right hamstring Saturday, and according to a report by the New York Daily News’ Peter Botte, the findings revealed tendinitis. The injury isn’t expected to keep the veteran out for an extended period of time.

“I honestly felt like if need be I could’ve stayed in the game . . . I think it will be really soon the way everything feels right now,” said Granderson, who leads the Yanks with 34 homers while appearing in all but one of their 132 games.

Despite the good news, Granderson will not be in the Yankees’ lineup Sunday when it faces the Baltimore Orioles in a series finale at Yankee Stadium (1:05 p.m. ET). Granderson will be replaced by outfielder Chris Dickerson, who’s batting eighth. Third baseman Eric Chavez will be hitting in Granderson’s fourth-hole spot.
