Boston Globe writer Gary Washburn reports Celtics forward Marquis Daniels signed a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks Thursday. Terms of the contract are not yet available.

Daniels, a nine-year pro who has spent time with Boston, Indiana and Dallas, averaged 3.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 12.7 minutes per game last season in Boston.

He played one year after having surgery on his spinal cord, which was the result of a collision with Magic guard Gilbert Arenas in February 2011. At the time of his injury, it wasn’t certain he would ever play again, but he returned to the court and played as a reserve with Boston last season.

Daniels’ presence will give Milwaukee a combo forward/guard who’s strong defense could help out immediately. Daniels is more of a defensive stopper, especially considering his offensive numbers fell off a bit post-surgery, but he will attempt to improve that aspect of his game with the Bucks.
