The Milwaukee Brewers clinched a three-game sweep against the Pittsburgh Pirates, winning 9-7 Thursday at PNC Park and keeping a chance in the race for a NL Wild Card spot. Pittsburgh was ahead 7-4 after the sixth inning, but their bullpen allowed four runs in the eighth, allowing the Brewers to make an improbable comeback.

The Brewers clinched a three-game sweep, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-7 Thursday at PNC Park, keeping a chance in the race for a NL Wild Card spot.


Aramis Ramirez slammed a two-run blast in the first inning and the go-ahead single in the eighth, right after a double by Norichika Aoki and a triple by Rickie Weeks.
The Brewers won despite leaving a total of 11 men stranded for the game. Pirates righty Chris Resop carried the loss after allowing three hits in barely ⅓ of an inning.
Manny Parra and Francisco Rodriguez combined for two shutout innings of work, and John Axford got his 31st save of the year, striking out three in the bottom of the ninth.
Milwaukee has won five games in a row, 23 of their last 29, and is 2½ games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the Senior Circuit's second Wild Card.
