Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton attempted to take batting practice before Thursday night's game, but was still experiencing sinus issues and instead is flying back to Texas to be evaluated by team doctors, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News.
Hamilton Flies To Texas To Meet With Rangers Doctors
Josh Hamilton is flying back to Texas for further evaluation regarding his persistent sinus issues.
Hamilton began experiencing the sinus issues during Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels and left the game in the fourth inning. He had an MRI in Los Angeles on Wednesday and did not play.
Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said on Wednesday, “I don’t know that we have an appropriate term to use at this point, but the symptoms are consistent with what somebody might feel having a sinus infection.”
The Rangers come into play on Thursday four games ahead of the Oakland Athletics for the American League West lead. Hamilton has been a major contributor, hitting .287/.358/.588 with a league-leading 42 home runs.
