Russell Martin hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning, helping the New York Yankees beat the Oakland Athletics, 2-1, Friday at Yankee Stadium. It was Martin's 18th blast of the season.

Yankees starter CC Sabathia was sharp, no-hitting the A's through five innings until Stephen Drew hit a lead-off single to center field. It was the first of only three hits allowed by the lefty during eight innings of work. He walked two batters and struck out 11.
Curtis Granderson drove in the first Yankees run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. It remained the only scoring play in the game until Rafael Soriano allowed a solo shot by Brandon Moss, tying the game, 1-1 and leaving Sabathia without decision. It was Soriano's fourth blown save this season.
Martin hit a solo blast off Sean Doolittle, who carried the loss. David Robertson took his second win of the year after a shutout inning.
The Yankees hold their one-game lead over the Baltimore Orioles in the AL East. Baltimore beat the Boston Red SoxFriday night, keeping them percentage points ahead of the A's in the Wild Card race.
