With the St. Louis Cardinals losing Friday afternoon, the Cincinnati Reds came into Friday night's tilt with the Los Angeles Dodgers with a Magic Number of just one. But the Dodgers would deny them the National League Central pennant for at least one more day, as they beat the Reds 3-1 in 10 innings. The Dodgers are now just two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the second Wild Card spot.

The Dodgers bullpen no-hit the Reds for 4⅓ innings, backing up a solid effort from starter Joe Blanton. Blanton pitched 5⅔ innings, giving up just four hits and an earned run while striking out six. Ronald Belisario was particularly impressive, striking out five of the six batters he faced.

Bronson Arroyo matched the Dodgers pitch for pitch, going eight innings and giving up just one run. He also drove in the Reds only run.

The Dodgers got on the board in the second inning, as Hanley Ramirez led off with a single. After stealing second, Luis Cruz's single would put runners on the corners. Juan Rivera grounded out to bring the run home.

The Reds would equalize in the fifth, as Xavier Paul doubled with two outs and scored on Bronson Arroyo's single.

The Dodgers would push two across in the top of the tenth to go ahead 3-1. A hit by pitch and two sacrifice bunts set up Matt Kemp for a game-winning two-run single.
