Sophomore guard Damarcus Harrison had his hardship waiver granted by the NCAA and can play right away for the Clemson Tigers. The Greenwood, S.C. native played on the BYU Cougars NCAA Tournament team last season and averaged 3.2 points and one rebound per game in 8.8 minutes per game as a freshman. He came up with a big performance in BYU's NCAA Tournament comeback win against the Iona Gaels, scoring 12 points and grabbing three rebounds.

This transfer gives the Tigers some much needed perimeter depth after the departure of guards Andre Young and Tanner Smith. In addition to that, Jaron Blossomgame and Devin Coleman are recovering from a broken leg and a torn achilles tendon, respectively.

Harrison had originally planned to go on his two-year Mormon mission beginning this fall, but the mission was delayed for a full year. His scholarship spot had been filled up which left him almost considering going the junior college route before Tigers head coach Brad Brownell reached out to him.

Clemson will hope that Harrison along with seniors Devin Booker and Milton Jennings will help the team in the 2012-13 season.
