At the non-waiver trading deadline this year, July 31, the Dodgers acquired outfielder Shane Victorino from the Phillies. In exchange, Philadelphia received relief pitcher Josh Lindblom, minor-league pitcher Ethan Martin and a player to be named later.
Dodgers broadcaster’s grandson sent to Phillies
The Dodgers acquired Shane Victorino in July. Now they’ve sent a member of the Dodgers family -- literally -- to Philadelphia as a PTBNL.

The PTBNL was named today, and he has a connection to someone very important to the Dodger family:

Stefan Jarrin was a 40th-round pick of the Dodgers in the 2011 draft; Baseball-reference’s list of 2011 Dodger draftees doesn’t list a high school or college for him. It’s not an unreasonable assumption that Jarrin was selected as a personal favor to his grandfather, who has been the Spanish-language radio voice of the Dodgers ever since they moved to Los Angeles in 1958.
The younger Jarrin, a middle infielder, has played 49 games over the last two seasons for the Dodgers’ club in the Arizona Rookie League, and has hit .211/.309/.336. And now he’s a member of the Phillies organization. Sic transit gloria mundi, is what Jaime Jarrin must be thinking.
