The Oakland Athletics defeated the Seattle Mariners at home on Saturday by the score of 7-4, giving the team their 14th walk-off win of the season.

With the help of some late-game heroics, the Oakland Athletics pulled off a comeback Saturday at home against the Seattle Mariners

The A’s offense was missing for much of the game against left-handed starting pitcher Jason Vargas, who took the mound for the Mariners. The southpaw allowed just one run on five hits in seven innings of work while striking out seven Oakland batters on the day.
Once Vargas left the game, the A's bats jumped on the Mariners relievers, including an unlikely hero. Down a pair of runs in the ninth inning, Josh Donaldson clubbed a 0-1 breaking pitch to straight-away center field for a 2-run, game-tying bomb.
While Donaldson's home run knotted the game at 4, it was Brandon Moss who would send the A's walking off with a victory for the 14th time this year. The 29-year-old sent a first-pitch heater off of Stephen Pryor to right field for a 3-run home run and his 21st of the season.
The victory extended Oakland's lead in the wild card race over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to 2½ games.
