Frank Jobe for the Coop?!

So there’s now a campaign afoot -- with Twitter-promoted petition, no less! -- to get Dr. Frank Jobe, the inventor of Tommy John Surgery, into the Hall of Fame.

↵I can’t take credit for being the first adherent, but I’ve been arguing for quite a while that Jobe is a worthy candidate in the “Pioneer/Executive” category. Unfortunately, while that category still exists, it’s terribly restrictive; no non-executive has been elected via that path since 1939, when (supposed) curve-ball inventor Candy Cummings made it. But it’s the only path for Jobe and (by the way) Bill James.
