Eric Wynalda and Merritt Paulson Are Fighting On Twitter Again

Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson and self-described American soccer messiah Eric Wynalda are bickering again on Twitter. This seems to be a regular thing now and since it's generally entertaining, I don't think anyone really minds. After all, everyone gets something out of it. Wynalda haters, Timbers fans, Sounders fans, they all get some level of joy from every time these two lock horns.

This particular spat is even better than past ones though. In fact, it might contain Merrit Paulson’s best ever Wynalda related tweet. It also has me thinking that Wynalda’s ego is extra bruised over presumably not being interviewed, or even considered, for the Timbers head coaching job. After all, why else would he send a snarky tweet degrading both Caleb Porter and Paulson?

Take a look.

I feel bad for Porter honestly as he's now caught in the crossfire, but that's all part of the fun of being a professional coach I suppose. Personally, I'm a well known anti-Wynalda person and it's tweets like the one above that fuel that feeling. I don't care what he's accomplished honestly when your reaction to a situation is to act like a total jackass.

Whatever Wynalda’s reasons, I’m sure they are petty and childish...because that’s his behavioral pattern. While I doubt Paulson wants my advice, I’d say this to him if given the opportunity. Just ignore him. Wynalda is a troll and if you don’t feed the trolls, they starve.

Just my two cents.
