Germany beings their World Cup 2012 qualifying schedule with a home match against the Faroe Islands and to be completely honest, this one could get ugly quick.
Germany Vs. Faroe Islands, 2014 World Cup Qualifying: Game Time And TV Schedule
Germany will look to push aside the Faroe Island as they begin down the road to World Cup 2014

Germany head coach Joachim Low will have mostly fit squad to chose from with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mario Gomez being the only notable absence due to injury. Philipp Lahm, Per Mertesacker, Mats Hummels and Jerome Boatend will all be availble for selection at the back, while Toni Kroos and Sami Khedira are the likely choices to patrol the midfield. Up front, Lukas Podolski is likely to make a return with Miroslav Klose up top.
The Faroe Islands will be looking to pull off the shocking upset, but the chances of that happening are very low. However the one thing they’ll have going for them is that the pressure is all on the Germans. Anything other than a resounding result in their favor will be frowned upon by their fans and cause a panic among the German sports media.
Head coach Lars Olsen will have to decide whether to start aging keeper Jakup Mikkelsen or the up and coming Gunnar Nielsen. Captain Frodi Benjaminsen will try to anchor the Faroe Islands midfield in front of his defense in the hopes they can somehow get a result.
I’m trying to be nice about this, but let’s be honest, Germany should run right over the Faroe Islands on their way to topping would should be a fairly easy Group A.
